North Terrace, State Government $70m Tram Extension and Up Grade. Michael Grear Surveys completed the initial Engineering Survey.
The project involved a full and extensive Engineering Survey of the 2300m Road Corridor, boundary to boundary in an extremely complex urban environment. This included working around extreme traffic and public transport movements, night work requirements, major Adelaide Community events and strict timelines from the client.
We took advantage of using our 3D Terrestrial Scanning with two main advantages; being an incredibly effective tool in acquiring data, and also improved safety by reducing the amount of time one of our surveyors had to spend on the road corridor. With the combination of the 3D Scanner and traditional theodolite technology gave us point and model accuracy perfect for this survey.
Some key statistics-
Over 66 kilometres of survey strings
Over 39 kilometres of Underground service strings
35000 survey points in addition to the 24 gigabyte of point cloud data and 3d CART data underground services.
This project was run by highly experienced, motivated Surveyors, who ensured a successful and timely project.
Congratulations to all of the Michael Grear Surveys Team. An efficient job completed and the prestigious award of Technical Excellence won.
